Dolce Amaro is located in the heart of historical Delft, since 2012. The building was formally a work and living space, used as a wood workshop amongst other things.
How it started
The owner and head chef of Dolce Amaro is Emilio Ganci.
He grew up in Syracuse, in Sicily, where his passion for food and cooking was born. He learned to cook through his mother and grandmother who prepared fresh meals daily. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. Every Sunday the family got together to have a delicious, long lunch all together; parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The Sicilian climate ensured fresh and varied products: succulent seafood, herbs and vegetables, mouth-watering oranges and lemons picked from their own garden, olive oil pressed from their 300-year old trees. These textures, smells and tastes of Sicilian cuisine still linger on in the dishes that Emilio cooks for you today. With love, from Sicily!
